AC unit air mix crank pops out

Searched the forums but couldn't find any info about this. My 2014 Mazda 3 heater with manual controls was blowing cold air. Turns out the air mix crank keeps popping out as shown in this

. I can remove the glove box and pop it back in but it's annoying and will probably break permanently one day. Does anyone know of a permanent fix for this?
