2007 Mazda 3-Brake Defect
 

This is a video of a 2007 Mazda 3 brake defect yet to be acknowledged by the manufacturer.

When backing the car out after a night of rain or damp weather, the brakes make an extremely loud and embarrassing noise. The manufacturer has refused to acknowledge this as a problem and the dealer continues to claim it's normal and all cars do it. When was the last time you heard you or your neighbor's car make this noise at 6am in the morning?

I OWN A 06 MAZDA 3 my brakes do the exact same thing. With that awfull noise. Dont know if its a matter of condensation on the rotors or what. But definetly anoing for sure.

That's not a normal brake noise... something may be loose on the car to set up that vibration. I've got an 07 GT and have no such noise - though I do need to keep the caliper pins lubed to keep them from dragging. Some normal maintenence may take care of this issue.

Later models have a weight hanging on the top and bottom of the front calipers. This was a fix to early models and a squeal that occurred under the conditions you're talking about. That vibration you can probably feel through the car and is NOT NORMAL for any vehicle... well besides busses and such which use drum rotors. Those can vibrate like that on occasion.

it is normal, ceramic brake pads squeal when moisture is on pads and rotors. semi metallic pads will not do this but create more brake dust and dont last as long. every brake pad material has something people dislike, so do research and find the brake pad that you prefer. make sure your pads, rotors and calipers are in good shape and operating correctly

I recently replaced my rotors & pads with slotted/drilled & ceramic. They now squeal a little on the first application. I greatly reduced the squeal by putting high temp silicone on the back of the pads - to stick them to the caliper. So that is something to try, just press the brakes once when it's wet and then let them dry in place. If you use the brakes when the silicone is wet it'll all ooze out and leave you with a lack of adhesive in the joint.

that one is pretty bad, i'm a tech at mazda and we get that complaint all the time. it's usually when the brakes havent been serviced or when we get rain and unfortunately there isn't much we can do other than replace the pads and resurface the rotors but it's not guarrantied that it wont happen again. we also use a silicone based spray for the backing of the pads so they stick to the caliper(it doesnt ooze out) so you can try servicing the brakes yourself or replace them.
