2007 2.0. Rough idle/ missing? Help.
 

Hi everyone, I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but need input.

At 100,000ks / 60,000 we had a timing chain rattle on start up, was told it's the tensioner, so whilst apart should do the chain, guides and VVT.
Other than the little rattle on cold start up...the car was not being naughty whatsoever.

Well the story has changed now....

1. After a week we got the call to pick up the car. Something was wrong and the saga begins. The car had no power, actually we never got out of the carpark, litarrally it was so gutless, we reversed right back in to the workshop.

2. Three weeks later the phone ran, car is ready... Of we went to collect the Mazda, started it up and it was vibrating horribly. Mechanic said he doesn't know why? It should get better.. ???
Really?? I walk away and two weeks later had another call it was fixed!

3. It's seemed better though a slight vibration now resided at idle?
Mechanic paid to have Mazda redo all his work and was happy to give it back to us. I was not happy at all.
Anyways decided to take it for a test, OMG.. That was short lived.
Around the corner I had to pull over, the car was pulling to one side and shaking. After inspection I noticed left front wheel had been badly curb damaged.
On my return.... They said they lent it as a coutesty car..
After they gladly had my wheel replaced, wheel alignment and balanced!!
I was back again to collect.

The vibration is still there at idle?
On my drive home... It runs well though.

A listen around the tail pipe it's makes missing / burbling sound? Not smooth?

Went for a motorway blast and engine light then came on.

4 hour later started car engine light is OFF..
Drove around city streets for 30 min, Same rough idle..

Went back on motorway... Engine light came back on?!

Any ideas ???????
Thanks to that mechanic, our trusty Mazda has issues.

I'm taking it back next week, but they just DO NOT know what they are doing. I've lost all trust with some "professional" automotive workmanship.
