'08 Mazda 3 - changing to K&N air filter - HOW?
 

Hi guys,

I own an '08 Mazda 3 1.6 manual. There reason it's 1.6 is because I live in Costa Rica. There are only 1.6's and 2.0's. This was my sister's car, another reason for being 1.6, she didn't really care about the engine.

I recently bought a K&N air filter (round one, not flat) but I just can't find how to install it. I found the stock air filter which I can remove, but I can only remove part of the case, so I can't remove the whole top. Even if I could open it, I wouldn't know where to connect the new air filter. I can't find the tube that connects with the filter, I just see the flat air filter and some other stuff... Tomorrow I'll try to post some pictures of the engine and the air filter, etc.

If you can post some pictures too showing me step by step and explaining, that would be even better!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

do an internet search to see if you can find the adapter to remove the stock box. online videos (google/youtube) also help
