i just want to know if my protegé has goog time [ oem intake]

what time have your car?

January-24th-2002 02:43 PM

16.1 is an exceptionally good time for a 1st-gen Protege. So, what equipment does your car come with. In the U.S., A/C and power everything was standard after 1990, and the lightest Proteges were around 2480 lbs.

And what tires do you run?

protegéboy January-24th-2002 02:57 PM

Be prepared for a lot more traction than you're used to. Those 205 Azenis' hook pretty strong. I'll be looking for a 2.3 sec 60 foot. Hope you get more than one run for your time.

What I should have said is that while optional, almost all of them came with it (A/C). In '90, PW/PDL/CC/and radio were all options. In '91, all those came standard on the LX.

Does that mean you have a SOHC? Most (almost all) 13" wheels won't fit on the LX (DOHC) cars. Although the SOHC 5-speeds aren't a whole lot slower than the DOHC cars, due to lighter weight (about 80 lbs).

protegéboy January-25th-2002 09:10 AM

its no fake

y disconect the a/c and power/s
he has the k&n filtes, and the complete exaust sistem, w/o resonator

White1stGen January-28th-2002 06:17 PM

The 16.05 was in the right lane at nappi I guess?

GTX140 January-29th-2002 03:47 PM

Need I remind y'all

You can argue over who is 2nd, or 3rd as far as N/A goes. Just remember who the king is, lol;)
Considering I ran a 15.8 and never broke a 2.2 60, things will only get better with my new MMS engine mounts and Azenis tires. I'm hoping for a 15.6, that would be nice.

mazdaspeedwest January-29th-2002 03:58 PM

Do we need to widen the doorways now? :p

I guess i'll find out mid Feb what i can do to improve my 1/4 mile time, as there will be one at the autox event :D

eeterp January-29th-2002 04:00 PM

Oh yeah?

Well, my 1/4 mile time is EXACTLY the same as my 2/8 mile time. :bt:

2.0 Probe January-29th-2002 10:00 PM

What times are you posting?

GTX140 January-30th-2002 11:06 AM

true

2.2 IS very good for a FWD, especially with an open differentail. However, I feel it will be atainable. At the present time, I only have one HD motor mount (by the strut tower) installed. That mount alone allows BOTH my front wheels to spin. The only time one spins is when it's wet, or on sharp turs (i.e. AutoX). It's amazing how much engine lash degrades performance. I can only imagine that my next HD mount (on top of the tranny) wont affect my new found LSD :p . And with the Azenis, I'll just have to launce at 6K:bt: .

SpaR/Ticus February-11th-2002 09:04 PM

haha, I said screw STS rules...I've got all hard mounts in, solid bobble strut, UDP (sitting in my garage...)....I'm WAAAAY out of ST.
