jking October-1st-2001 12:39 AM

What is the stock boost and what did you have your boost up too?

MAD323 October-1st-2001 12:48 AM

stock boost is .68 bar (9.5 psi)
adjusted is .9 bar (13.5 psi)

MAD323 October-1st-2001 01:24 AM

the us spec bf gtx is 7/8 psi stock
but the j spec bg gtx is 9.5 psi

stock intercooler ...

got plans in the pipeline to upgrade it to a air / water setup

15.3 seems kinda slow for a BPT GTX... i would have expected mid/high 14s...oh wait you have AWD, that would account for some drivetrain power loss.

just that i have seen some BP cars hit low/mid 15s (which i where i think i am) with moderate mods...cams would open that baby right up:D

MAD323 October-1st-2001 06:00 PM

also having a sterio system in the boot doesent help ..... :(

except on the drive to and from the strip Blue

also the strip i use i regarded as a 'slow' strip ..... its slightly up hill

Actually AWD cars are quicker in 1/4 mile times because they have virtually no tire spin. But if you race on from a roll the FWD or RWD will probably win assuming same HP and Weight

MAD323 October-1st-2001 11:31 PM

actually i was getting full wheel spin in 1st and a bit in 2nd ...

AWD is usually better for handling than drag racing. It's more difficult to launch most AWD drive cars than 2wd. No doubt about it's advantage here in the snow though. ;)

MAD323 October-3rd-2001 11:25 PM

also the 4wd is harder to judge bog down .... its a finer line with a 4wd than in a 2wd

Eric F October-4th-2001 12:04 PM

I had lots of time and practice getting used to it her in Chicago. Back when I had my Subaru, I couldn't weight for it to snow.:D

MAD323 October-4th-2001 01:30 PM

i havent been in the snow yet :(

Dyno Times

So far prior to dyno tuning I managed a 14.5 on street tires. I believe darryl was with me when I ran a 14.6 at LACR. This at 4000+ elevation.

After tuning the car runs much stronger, so hopefully I'll be a lower 14 or a high 13 now.

Ya, wasn't that the second run against the Eclipse GST spider. With a jerry rigged boost controller, that was damn good :D

I had a black 1997 Legacy 2.5GT Limited. The only problems with it were the auto trans (wife's idea) and leather interior. I live in Chicago, so the leather was cold in the winter and hot in the summer. :( It looked good though. :) I missed driving a stick shift too much, so I traded it for the Protege. :D

What kind of Subaru did you have Eric? Ive always been a fan, ever since my parents bought a new 1985 then new Subaru Loyal Station Wagon back when i was a kid. It was a really nice car, and lasted a long time. The only downfall was the 88hp motor, pushing around 2800lbs of car. This thing had to have a running start to go up a hill;)
