Friday Night 1/4mile @ LACR

Braden and i met up last night at Los Angeles County Raceway. It was much warmer that i expected, i only had 2 hours, as traffic was a holy bitch, but managed to get 3 runs in anyway.

Well, just as i was a bit unhappy with the dyno, i've gone and done it again......here are the list of factors, not excuses...i only have myself to blame. I may have some street racing under my belt, but i learned quickly, that at the track, it's a whole new game, where focus, concentration and skill are mandatory for a good pass, as is finding the proper shift points!!! but this is work i can get used too

1. Hey, It was my first time!
2. 16" wheels and BALD ASS TIRES!
3. clutch is really slipping on launch (BTW, still original!!!!!!!!)
4. ~200lbs of stereo shit
5. ~50lbs of crap i totally forgot to take out of the trunk...i'm a dumbass

My worst reaction time was laughable....1.108 (not to say my best was that great either :) )
but i had fun anyway :bt:

best of 3 runs: (which happend to be my 1st run)
.914 r/t
16.9 @ 79mph

with practice on the launch and reaction time and if i lighted up my load (still kicking myself for that one) i think i could do MUCH better. I KNOW i could shave at least 1sec off.

Well, one good thing came from it though, my first race i won. Thats gotta count for something, right :D

Everyone should go to their local race track and try it. Like Mazdaspeed says, it takes a lot of skills. You'll find out that racing at your local track is still fun, but the most important factor is that it is SAFE .

BTW, my niece got hit friday night by a street racer. Luckily she survived and is doing well. The driver kept going but he was caught. He was drunk. He didn't want to take the rap by himself, so he told the police the name of the other driver and he was also arrested.

i wish your niece a speedy recovery (no pun intended)

Funny thing is too, i actually commented to my GF on the way home that i would much rather go to the track than street race anymore. Even if it's a 200mile round trip!!!!!!

It just makes sense, with all the work we do on our cars, time and money spent, it's not worth losing it all or even worse, injuring somebody. The true test of our hard work is in the time slips and the FUN you have doing it, win or lose.

I have found a new home :bt:

Stay safe, race at the track

wait a sec dude, you get a 8sec r/t and still made an under 17 pass!!!! doooooooooood!

So your saying, you ran a 9 sec 1/4mile....must have been a hella tail wind :D was it a 45degree downhill run? or maybe an 1/8 mile track?

or maybe you deducted the 8secs from your 25sec pass and i'm just ribbin ya for the hell of it :D :D :D :D :D

98-01 accord coupe with i/h/e

i ran the accord, and an ecplise gst (which i had a better 1/8mile time :)) and an integra gsr with a 30shot of N20. lost both. the gst had a horrible launch and the iteg just plain spanked me.

1/4 & HP figs

Proud to say I finally broke 15s. :the finge 15.8 on a cool Oct daywith a .509 tree. Worst tree of the day was .611, had 4 runs. I went on Dereks Exotic cars page to do a HP calculation. Came up with 129 at the wheels. Sounds pretty right to me after looking at Big Mike's dyno charts. We have virtually identical cars except for my cams. It's awesome knowing I'm pushing nearly 170hp at the crank:eek: :bt:
I also love seeing this:dunno: when I snoke another Civ. Later guys. Been away on active duty for a while, might be goin back soon. Hope to make more posts:blue:
