How to deal with hydrolocked engines?
 

A hydrolocked engine occurs when the water has contaminated the engine of your car; more specifically, the cylinders. As we all know, water is the last thing you want your engine cylinders to come with. Inside the cylinder, combustion occurs 1,000 times in a minute. It's going to increase as your car's revolution per minute (RPM) goes up.
With that in mind, the water inside the cylinder would disrupt the essential combustion of the engine. Without proper combustion, the car engine will not produce enough power to keep it cranking. Fire and water don't go well with each other, so there's trouble with a hydrolocked engine. (true for not only Mazda models but other cars)

Hydrolocked engines may also occur when your fuel tank is contaminated with water. Unfortunately, the water in your car's fuel tank will lead to rust over time. And when there's rust, the fuel tank of your car will break, causing the fuel to leak.

So how to deal with it?

Perhaps the real answer with a hydrolocked engine is not to start your car when it's submerged in floodwaters :D What you need to do is call your trusted mechanic or go to a car service shop to get more help. This way, you will avoid damage to the incompressible water inside your cylinder.

But once you already encounter failures from a hydrolocked engine, it's best to buy a new car instead of maintaining it. Repairing your hydrolocked engine may be cheaper at first, but a new car will save you vast amounts of cash from repairs and maintenance in the long run.
