nice write, but can i offer a few other tips...

usually vinyl comes in a 15" wide roll and you can cut it in half for the top of the widshield. Becarefull though, as it sometimes comes with perforated egdes. It then has 2 factory straight edges, which would work best for the bottom edge. It will lay curved naturally. Infact vinyl decals, especially large ones are applied just like window tint.

Also, fill a spray bottle up with water and add about 2-3 drops of dish soap. spray the window and then lay out your decal. This allows 2 things, 1. work time, gives you a chance to set it up perfect by allowing it to move around. 2. eliminates bubbles. You then just squegee the water out and let dry. being carefull to follow how the vinyl wants to lay and not moving to fast with the squegee. Wet the topside of the vinyl to give the squegee some lube to slide along easily. Doing it dry must have been a nightmare and you have to be carefull not to go to fast and crease the vinyl. good job dude.

(having a window tint shop and a vinyl machine helps with the learning curve :) )

I know this thread is way old, but I just did mine and i did the inside not outside. Won't this peel off and get effected by the weather on the outside? None the less does look good though. I plan on offering "free" window tint to my family. Just to get me skilz down pat!
