3rd Gen: Timing Belt Replacement
Just bought a 2000 with 79k, and have to assume the timing belt has not been changed. Don't want to pay for the labor if I can do it in a day or two.
Anyone done this DIY? I've done an '85 Escort, but the Protege looks a bit tougher, requiring a motor mount removal and two special tools. Tips/Advice? |
you've got a private message from me :)

...with advice about how not to try this yourself?
|
^^ lol it's not that bad
|
i keep saying "you can do it" but in the end i think i'll have my shop do it, the water pump and all my new light weight pullies.....maybe i'll try it...no....
|
lol, that's where I drew the line, too. Too much hassle...plus my mechanic owed me one.
