3G Protege: Moonroof always on
 

Materials needed
soldering iron
solder
electrical tape
wire cutters
knife / wire stippers

First you wanna find your moon roof switches there should be some lights on either side, got it good.
NOw grab a side and and pull.

Note left or right, not front and back, there are some clips on thouse sides. A firm tug should break it free dont over do it becuase the headliner might getted messed up.
Next undo the 2 wire bundles and take the whole thing inside.
We are interested in the smaller clip with 2 wires. the Pink is +12 when the key is in the ignition it becomes the green with orange stripe after the clip. It loops down and into the second clip, so were on the same page.
What were basicly doing is taking the always on blue and red and tapping it.

Now pull off the electrical tape.

Whats this the blue wire splits off into two half way down, great thats half the work done for us. Now clip the green w/ orange stripe wire Preferably somewhere close to the smaller clip. Tape off the part close to the clip. Just in case, leave an inch or so it can be reversed.

Strip the other half of the wire and solder it on to where the one blue w/ red stipe wire splits into two.

I find its best to tin the wire seperetly heat up the wire and toutch the solder to it and the solder will move to cover the wire. Then toutch the solder wire to the metal part between the two wires and heat that up. When its cooled off tape it off.
And tape the whole bundle together. JUst like it was.

Put it back together, in the car.

I cant remember when I took this picture but its the same as the first.
And just push everything back together.It should just click into place be sure its not backwards :tooth:
And your done. I made sure this was seperate from the defroster too so everything else should work as normal.

OK, here's my concern: The green with orange stripe (G/0) wire has a 15A fuse on it. The blue with red stripe (L/R) wire has a 10A fuse on it. You're putting both loads, the moonroof motor and the interior lights, on the single 10A fuse, while originally the moonroof motor had a 15A fuse all to itself.

If you turn on all the interior lights and then operate the moonroof, the fuse doesn't blow? If not, nothing succeeds like success, I guess. If it does, I'd probably just pop a 15A fuse in there; the wiring can probably handle 15A, it just had a 10A fuse because the lights were never expected to draw more than that.
