Remove all these 12mm bolts/nuts. There is also 4 12mm bolts on the bottom half that you have to remove to get the top half off.
Attachment 10125 also remove this bracket while you're down there getting thos bottom intake manni bolts off. It's right by the starter. Attachment 10126 Grab another Attachment 10127 to get the top half free you must remove these 2 coolant lines. Attachment 10128 Attachment 10129 Attachment 10130 Now that the top half is off remove the bottom half 12mm nuts. The bottom ones are a bitch. I used a 6inch and 3inch extention to reach the bottom ones. Attachment 10131 Now that all that is out of the way tak the old gasket out and drop a new one in. Attachment 10132 Attachment 10133 Just a shot of what you should be looking at when the intake manni is out. I never relized how much of a cluster fk it was behind there. Attachment 10134 |

While I was at it I desided to put the bottom half of a cut intake manni in place of the old one.
Attachment 10121 The rest of the prossess is just taking some cleaner(I used brake cleaner) and cleaning the inside out. Installation is reverse of removal. I had an idle issue for months and now with a cut bottom half and a very clean intake manni with new gaskets it idles like this. COLD Attachment 10122 warmed up Attachment 10123 Grab another. You're done. Attachment 10124 |
:P just noticed this. Nice how-to, though I can't condone the alcohol consumption ;)
