does anyone know when the RX 8 comes out and price range of it i was told mid to high 20s and last night i was told 30s?

Kincaid March-27th-2002 06:52 PM

Taken right from Road & Tracks road test article. It will be below the 30,000 mark for a fully equipped model.

It's set for a next spring launch.

craigrrrp March-27th-2002 06:54 PM

NEXT spring!!...your kidding me

Mxyzptlk March-27th-2002 07:03 PM

Yeah below 30,000 means 29,995 right? Before TTL. Before the dealer hits you up for the underbody coating, leather protection, Teflon coating. I thought it would be out in the fall. What kinda of cars come out in the spring? The RX-8 right.

craigrrrp March-27th-2002 07:07 PM

yea well he did say fully loaded!!....maybe that is a auto so knock off about 1200-1500 for auto28,800-28,500...man im gonna trade in my pro when they come out

Mxyzptlk March-27th-2002 07:10 PM

;) :bt: ...only took me 24 years...lol

They estimate base price to be 26,000.

Leather will be standard.

Standard models come with 16 inch alloys. Upgraded comes with 18".

Available in 6 speed[standard], or 4-5 speed automatic.

Again according to R & T.

RX-8 will be in the showrooms in February or March 2003.

Contrary to what Protege Menace says, the investment required by a car company to produce a new car typically means that at least a five year production run is required.

Based on the fact that the new Renesis 13B engine meets ULEV standards, why would they drop it? It makes no sense, and I totally discount his rumour.

The RX-8 doesn't use a Renesis 13B. It uses a new MSP-RE. The rotor housings are similar to the 13B but the MSP has a 3 stage, 6 port induction system. It allows for better breathing and improves fuel economy over the 13B.

It's referred to as the Renesis. Dimensionally, it's the same as a 13B...same 1308cc. I'm well aware that it has different intake and now side exhaust ports, but the 10, 12, 13, 20, and 26 designations all refer to displacement...which is what I was simply doing.
Right on. :D
