Your Protege5 is much cooler, but alas, haven't seen it in the Protege Garage recently.
Should I get off my arse and post some photos of my old 2001 Neon? It was pretty sweet, had it's share of aftermarket parts, might even whoop my Protege's ass in a race.

Cute car there, Roddy. Who picked the color, your Mom?

wow, you guys are haters!!!

I loved the car. It was dead-reliable and got 44mpg's on the interstate. The car was pre-painted and kitted prior to my purchase. It' was a melon orange...looked red during the day and orange under a street light. VERY original.

the altezza's were my least favorite part.

...I'm not posting pics of my Neon. This crowd is too mean! You guys are missing out, though. It was a 2001, Bright Silver Metallic, rolling on matching silver 17" Konig Rated R "Racing" wheels with 45-series rubber, and I think I was among the first in my town to have Altezza tail lamps at the time (which now I think are played out). Oh yeah, it also had a full catback, AEM, etc etc etc. Imagine an SRT-4 without the turbo and 400cc less displacement, and you get the idea. Of course, it had the 5-speed... as did all five cars I owned previous to the Protege.

if you guys come to my place fr a big meet sometime though we'll have plenty of parking in the south 40!

Alright, just when you think a thread is dead... I have to support Matty in this one, and post a pic of my (afore mentioned) Neon. Pic was snapped in Northern Michigan, during a camping weekend several years ago. Back then, the Altezza craze had just started. And, you can see that Thermal R&D full cat back poking its head out from under the bumper. Then there are those beautiful Konig 17" wheels, which were discontinued before I could get a set for my Mazda. I see it going the other way during my morning commute sometimes... almost always makes me feel a little sick (though I would not trade my P5 to have her back)!
