Matty P ditching mazda after the P5......
1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys, nothing personal. Once I'm done working the P5 I'm giving up on mazda. I'm just tired of their cost cutting and corner cutting in their performance vehicles. If the new Mazdaspeed 6 doesn't tickle my pickle I'm leaving and buying this........

Matt's selling out!!! Holy Cow, are you guys feeling the ground shake?!? What's next ?!?
The sky IS falling!!! |
there is a little price difference between the new gtr and mazda6, this is what you really need
http://www.teamfc3s.org/forum/showth...threadid=31805 499rwhp @23psi for $8500.00 |
Good gracious. Thats an amazing price for that car however I want something reliable and let's be honest....that motor won't do more than about 10K IF that.
The new skyline will descimate all. Where's mazda with the new 7?? |
i heard 2006 for the new 7
|
can't be....there is no physical concept car out yet for it. Look at how long these comanies have physical concept/test vehicles before they're released.
Nissan has a little over 4 years in their new skyline Ford had 3 years on the new GT and Shelby Cobra (also 4 years on the 05 mustang) I'd be "crap-my-pants" surprised if Mazda has an RX7 with a working powertrain in it undergoing testing now. They are still deciding the best way to get power from the renesis engine... Personally I could solve the problem right here and now....4-rotor renesis NA...could you imagine how fast that would be at 9K rpms?!?! All you'd have to do..oh wait.....no, not going to happen. Relocating the intake and exhaust ports ruled out the possibility of anything over 2 rotors......oh well hydro-charge that beast and be happy with 300hp! |
can you even afford a new skyline? the old ones run for a good 80G's imported...
|
Hey, I understand... life is too short (and there are too many good cars out there) to stay true to just one brand. I love my P5, but every now and again I get a hankering for that manic, turbocharged flat four under the hood of the WRX. Better make it an STI... Then again, there's that Mini Cooper S. Trendy, I know, but it has a totally tossable chassis and aftermarket support is growing. Hell, there's even a part of me that wouldn't mind sticking with Mazda a second time around - next time in a Mazdaspeed Miata. If I won the lottery, I would be one of those guys with 30 cars... That's why I vote "go for it".

p.s. my wife graduates with her phd in 3 semesters. We'll be fine! |
I'm just a little put out by the lack of thought put into some of the mazda units....namely the msm and msp. No forged internals, no decent tuning, no dealership support.
Look at what dodge has done with the SRT4?? good lord they built that car right. I am not a fan of the neons or dodges at all but that car was WELL THOUGHT OUT. I think Mazda's last chance to keep me a buyer is going to depend on the MS6 or the RX-7. If it's not done right I'm jumping ship. p.s. Wife and I are hoping to pick up our new '05 Stang GT in another 34days. :blue: |
I've driven an SRT-4... awesome car. And, a darn sight faster than a Mazdaspeed Protege!
|
yeah in a straight line....now with a 2" drop and some nbigger sway bars that SRT is one bad-ass auto-x car.
With an open exhaust, boost controller, intake, and wastegate they are one helluva drag racer. I think it was within a week or so of the SRT launch they had themrunning 12's on the stock turbo. |
