Does anyone know anything about the Millennia?

Just wondering if any one had any experience with the Millennia? It looks like Mazda is discontinuing it.

It comes with I think a 2.5V6 engine standard I think. The same unit in the V6 versions of the 626. The Millenia is available with a 2.3LV6 Miller Cycle engine. Its a supercharged engine with a Lysholm compressor I think.

And it has nice 17 inch rims, that look like the 16 inch ones the ProES has.

It has a 5 speaker Bose stereo system and that's about all I know.

You are correct. The last year for the Millenia was 2002, which hurts resale value for those of us with Millenias (mine's a 2001).

I have the 2.5L V-6, almost the same engine as in MX-6, 626, Probe GT (93-97) and 626 (98-02). There are minor bore/stroke differences as well as a different intake system.

Also discontinued is the 626. The 6 sedan replaced both vehicles. It's nice that it got a suspension system more similar to the Millenia's (front upper/lower control arm/rear multilink) as opposed to the 626s (front struts only).

Mine has about 18000 on it and has held up really well. But it's nothing like a Protege (its smoother, quieter, heavier, and an automatic).

hello and welcome to last year

the 17" wheels off of it will fit the Pro. just in case you didn't know.

I was just wondering if anyone had any info on how they were as a personal car. Sorry to post in the wrong spot. It's coming to the end of the year and my local dealer has a gob of them on the lot. He is willing to make a deal on them and if the price was right I might be entice to buy one. I haven’t really seen many of them on the road and I wasn’t sure why. From the outward appearance they look like a completive car in the price market they are in. I have been looking at the new Maxima and thought this might be a good alternate.

Well it's being discontinued in favor of the 6. Which may have already been mentioned. I didn't read through the entire thread :D

The 6 is hot. Very hot. You'll really look dated in a Millenia in my opinion :D

I'd go for a Maxima, but that's just me personally. The suspension is just about the only drawback on those cars (doesn't have rear independent suspension), but aside from that, the Maxima's are phenominal cars. The power is amazing, they are very very well built cars. Again, the resale values on the Maxima's aren't that great. But that makes it a great buy... Look for an '02 or '03.

not as much anymore... the 02 and 03 are built in the us now
