anyone interested in plating?

I went ahead and ordered the nickle plating system I mentioned in one of my rx7 threads. It'll plate most metals (although I'm sticking to aluminum) in several finishes. I'm going to be doing chrome, nickle and smoked chrome finishes.

This would look HOT on valve covers, brackets, nuts/bolts, piping, etc.

when it arrives I'm going to do a few sample pieces in each metal and post the pics for everyone to see. I'm not doing anything larger than a valve cover for the time being but when I do nickle plate the rx7 rims I'll post pics for everyone to judge.

Because this is something I do in my off time don't expect it to be rushed or back in your hands in 3 days. I don't want to milead anyone into thining this is a 24hr turn around period or anything. If you want something done overnight and sent back (valve cover) that can be arranged before hand but the price will go up accordingly.

Yo,

Do you think you could chrome my stock 17" rims? Any idea what the price might run?

Mmmmmm, valve covers...WTH is smoked chrome, though?

i'm not doing large items...valve covers are as big as I'm getting.

it's technically called "black chrome" Gary. I think it's awesome. Would look great on a blue or white car...even red.

We need a stamped sheet / black chrome to cover the radiator top (from removing the air box).

HHmmm. I could think of others...

you get them stamped and cut and I'll plate or coat them. Wait, don't let me over commit myself already.

I'm going to just have fun with this process for now and if I get some more free time I'll let ya'll know.

Let me talk to the tin-benders (metal shop) at my unit. HHmmmh.
