2005 Rx-7?

A new version 7 brought back to north america in 2005+:
true or false?

I doubt that a new RX-7 will be coming out as the RX-8 is on the way;) :D

There was an article about this in Road & Track a few months back. Basically, Mazda claims that if the RX-8 is a big enough success, the RX-7 will probably make a return. I wish I had a link to show you, but I don't think it was ever published on their website.

i think in an earlier post someone mentioned that if the RX-8 sold really well, then they would introduce a 2 door version along with the 4 door, is this what your talking about

Mazda execs have always wanted a "three tier" sports car lineup - that is to say a four door, a two door and an entry level sports car (miata). If the RX-8 sells well, there is no reason why a redesigned 7 would be out of the question. Especially amidst very strong rumors that the Supra is returning to the field. I've heard that the new RX-7 might be built radically different, smaller than, the last models - perhaps even on a modified Miata chassis.

A new RX-7 would bring the 350Z to its knees. :) Here's hoping

Autoweek said that for 04 or 05, the new Miata might have a 250hp rotary in it. If so will it then be an RX-5?

how do the miata guys feel about this? do you think it'll handle like the current setup?

I'd like to see a new '7' as long as Mazda keeps the weight down. The trend with new cars is more hp and more weight. :thumbs do

i have read quotes from the mazda guy in charge of the miata that a rotary will NOT end up in the miata, it is not even being talked about. however, the rumor that the rx8 and miata will share platforms is true. (to save costing)

Wow!!! Cool photos / news. Haven't seen all that before. I was going to say, if the Miata / RX-7-8 will share a platform you probably can find a way to end up putting a rotary in the Miata (well, maybe slightly more easily than normal, hehe).
