Alarm

I installed the HKS type1 turbo timer yesterday and that mechanic told me that he aint know how to bypass the alarm when the timer is busy counting down. does anyone know how to? my car is the new 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege!

Yeah I installed a Blitz FATT and I cant get the alarm to arm when its timing down. I know on the WRX you cut one wire. So it should be the same...now if I only knew what wire....

HELP with alarm

yea wish someone knew...well basically I think that the car is just too new and the mechanics dont know bout the car enough.but I wish they knew more already.Like my HKS type 1 turbo timer has like speed limits and other functions too,but that stupid mechanic just dont know how to and where to make those functions work.now that I have the turbo timer,is almost the same as not having one.sucks.still gotta wait to shut off so the alarm can be armed.

Dude I found out that you need to go under the dash yank out the "brain" of the alarm. Its a black box that sits under the dash by the steering column. Well take it out, pull the 3 connectors so you can have it out in an place with better lighting. Take the 4 screws out and remove the electronics. There is a box with 4 dip switches, flip #2 to the on position and put the brain all back together. Now when your timer is timing down get out of the car manually lock the doors. Your alarm will arm 1 minute after the igition is shut off (timer times down) The crappy thing about it though is that your alarm will arm no matter what a minute after the ignition is shut off...I found all this info on www.mazdamp3.com

I just bought a Mazdaspeed Pro and at the dealership I bought it at they have a certified Mazdaspeed mechanic they are the only ones that can work on those cars, and he told me that there is a blowoff valve in that system already because I asked him if I should put one in as for the timer I don't Know. I was also asking him whan they are coming out with the turbo upgrade and he said by mid summer they should be out. He told me he will put that upgrade in and also the are coming out with a downpipe for it

most alarms have the 30-sec or 60-sec auto arm after the ignition is turned off, but i've never seen anyone take apart the brain to switch it on. Does your alarm come with a manual on how to program the thing or is it a really cheap alarm b/c it is stock?

What turbo upgrade is this you speak of?

Mmmmm i love wrx, preferibly STI :D
