Turbo install

I was hoping if anyone could help me
I have a friend who has a '90 Talon TSI
and is willing to sell me an extra turbo
that he has. I was just wondering if the install
is possible and what other hardware i would need
besides a boost contorler and intercooler.
Any help would be appreciated thx

if i am not mistaken you will need the turbo manifold for our car, which is far and few unless flyingmiata sells the manifold by itself.

where should i start.....from expierence. you will need the following:

turbo manifold, mandrel bent tubing, turbo timer, boost controller, fuel pump, boost gauge, air/fuel meter, MSD ignition, blow-off valve, a lot of fabrication (cut and bend) and the most important thing is TIME AND MONEY.... i hope this gives you an idea....

What exactly is your model? DX or LX, what year? There may be choices for turbo manifolds.

actually, you DO NOT NEED turbo timer, air/fuel meter, or msd ignition, and you probably don't need a fuel pump either. I just saved you at least $500.

I would suggest larger injectors (depending on your setup). Also, you probably want to have the turbo rebuilt. Down pipe and full length exhaust would be nice too.

oops, forgot that i didnt put in my car info,
i have a 2002 ES :), another question while im here,
about how many psi can i expect,
about 4-6 is what i was thinking,
ill have to ask my friend who im buying it from i guess

That sounds about right, to start off :)

I just know some of the 90-94 SOHC guys were considering having a turbo manifold made (me included). So I don't know what you'll need for your engine? I think turboing the 2.0L has been discussed sometime, be sure to use the search :)

your right CHASTAN, you don't need all that stuff...just big injectors....who told you that people at PEP BOYS.
oh yeah your next statment will be "since all you need is big injectors, you might get away w/ 10 lbs of boost"

your from the west coast (southern cal) too, where the import racing started..next time call Dynamic Autosports in Irvine to get your info.

you should know better than that...

Sorry....I don't follow. What are you trying to state?

Also, you'll probably want to upgrade your clutch. If you do, get something streetable, preferably with an organic disc. A few pro/mp3 guys with 6-puck race clutches have had to replace their trannies.
