Blow Off Vavle, Proper engine internals, intercooler piping, bigger exhaust, bigger brakes, stronger tranny, stronger/catchier clutch, intake manifold, ignition controller, boost controller, better-than-stock fuel/air management, guages, enough space to fit everything, enough patience to tune everything. And that's just the beginning. Depending on what you've got you'll probably need a stand alone engine management system too. Then, yo're probably going to start breaking drivetrain parts if you plan on pushing the car hard.

Turboing an engine isn't just spending $800 on a turbo..there's a lot of other parts, labor, and broken parts to go through.

If you only know what you know now, you'd better spend some time researching :-) I was in the position you're in now...expect in February 2002. I'm just now getting ready to install everything this month (April). It might not take you that long before you know what you're doing, but trust me...don't just jump into it saying "hey I want a turbo". Sit down, plan it out, research it...ask about your idea, plan it over again....then buy the parts, make sure they will work.

I went through 3 different FMICs before I found one that MIGHT work (I'm still not sure).

I can never find the Corky Bell book at Borders... even though their inventory says they have it... plus it's kinda expensive:red:

Hey Loginology, which ones are you looking at? I was looking at the Flyin Protege kit the other day, and that kit comes with one. But I have put a pretty good list of parts together, and have never came across any other then that one. I would like to check out the ones you have found. Thanks.

What do you mean? I'm not getting a kit...I've bought everything myself that can be bought, and fabbing/modding everything that needs to be.

Sorry for not making it clear, I meant the intercooler, I did not know if you bought a intercooler specifically made for the P5 or not? I was wondering which intercooler you bought that you are going to modify.

dude he's got a FIRST GEN PROTEGE....

Yet again sorry for assuming that everyone had a P5, my fault, but still, I am sure you could mod an intercooler so it could fit in a P5 even though he is going to put it into a first gen Protege. So ignoring that, Loginology which intercoolers are you looking at buying?
