Postion of MAF for Turbo project?

I was wonder if you guys that have a turbo your GEN3 Protege could help me out? Where did position the MAF sensor? Before the turbo or after between the turbo and the throttle body. If Between the turbo and throttle body before or after the BOV?
Thanks in advance :)

I don't have a turbo but have worked on them and studied them. You need to put it between whatever air filter you are using and the inlet to the turbo.

Thanks

I figured as much. But I was wondering if it would more of a benefit to but it as close to the throttle body as possible so the ECU get accurate ready so that the fuel input to the motor is correct for the give boost level. A cheap way I guess of achieving the right level of fuel enrichment with a turbo protégé ecu managing things.

From what I've read they don't like positive pressure. You could mount the thing 5 feet from the throttle body and it would still see the same amount of air going into the motor. The only thing that would affect it is if there is extra air leaking in between it and the throttle body. That's what causes an idle surge and poor performance. All the air that enters the engine has to go through the MAF so it doesn't matter how far upstream it is. Yes, it's probably better for throttle response to have it closer but turbo cars have been mounting it before the turbo for a long time now with no adverse affects.

So the next question is will the BOV mess things (MAF reading) up. Since the air the MAF reads and the air going into the intake might be different if the MAF is place on the intake side of the turbo compressor and the BOV between the turbo and the throttle body.

Another question has anybody successfully fooled the damn second O2 sensor? I've try the resistor and a one of those MIL eliminator no success yet.

Also for those of you that have a turbo where did you hook up the Teflon tube for the boost gauge? Intake pipe, intake manifold or a tee in one of the vacuum lines? Same question for the check valves to fool the ecu on boost levels.
Thanks
