(Has anybody heard of these guys? I was looking for lowering springs and came across these turbo kits)

Mazdaspeed Turbo Manifold: My dealer had no information on it, he said to call back in about a month.

Looks like the 2.0l are actually getting an aftermarket. Im suprised. Now the question arises... do we hold out for the 3 engine and put that in our 3rd Gens? or do we keep looking to Turbo the current ones? Descions descions :( (at least we have some though)

I don't think you're allowed to get the Mazdaspeed Protege turbo parts. They are sold as replacement only, and you have to supply a VIN, IIRC.

Why are looking for just manifolds, why not the whol kit?

I have the FM kit, it is pretty nice. I enjoy it on a daily basis.

Terry, aka Spool Turbo, aka spoolinmp3, just hit the market last year. People who have bought his products seem to be happy with them. He also sells whole kits. Quality looks good, I have never used it however.

You can't get the turbo/exhaust related parts off of the Mazdaspeed Protege, they are VIN+exchange parts only...

The Protege after-market, particularly the 2.0 liter segment, has been growing for quite sometime. Are you new here?

As far as waiting for the 2.3 liter, its not going to fit well...Or so I have read.

lol, Ive been here since the board opened up thats why I commented that we ACTUALLY have a decent aftermarket now. I was told by my sales rep that getting the MSP turbo parts would not be a problem, I would just need the part numbers. The dealer where I bought my P5 is one of the 2 MSP dealers here in Ohio. As far as just getting a turbo manifold? It costs way to much money to custom fab one and I think I can peice a better kit together myself for a better price.

Edit: besides I was just trying to help out... maybe somebody else was looking for a turbo manifold?

Anyways, I'm curious to see what the dealer will do about the turbo parts. All the news I've seen on this board has always said that you'll need a VIN / work order to get the turbo parts.

No worries man...I wasn't intending to flame, if it came across that way.

But I have been told by many a source with Mazda, the exhaust manifold is specifically an exchange item only, and you have to have an MSP VIN to get the new part.

In the future that might change, however right now that is the only way to get it.

sometimes putting the turbo together yourself can be a bit cheaper than getting the kit ,, but the thing with the kit is that it is insurance , cause if you think about it you are sure to get everything that you need , and it will work (98%) ... only thing is that you help finance someones house or car when you purchase a kit lol

Get the FM ones.

1. They are a big, experienced company.
2. They are relatively cheap.

And they are a relatively shitty design. Don't waste your money, get the spool-turbo manifold if you want real power.
