Nitrous Owners: Spray Duration

Does anyone know what's the total spray duration of a 10lb. bottle (wet or dry) for about a 50 shot? It would be nice to know a ballpark figure.

Considering each use is about a few seconds, it would be helpful to know how often a bottle needs to be refilled.

Thanks.

Well i have a NX Kit w/ a 50 shot...It's a wet kit...and It all depends on how you will use it...

Well this is how i use it...

I spray in second...3rd...and 4th... And you will be able to use it for about 7-8 runs....

So i usually fill up on Friday...and shoot...some on friday...lots on saturday...and by sunday...i am emptying my bottle...

Hope that helps...

If you are planning to do lots of shooting...i would suggest getting a bigger bottle...or purchasing a 2nd bottle!

or to answer his question ..... the nitrous express page says
at 100 hp you use .8 lbs every 10 secs..... so in our terms, you you run 50 shot, you use one half lb every ten secs of spray approx.

When we were running our ZEX kit on a 50 shot we could usually get 8 runs or so out of it also. That was hitting it in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear (we never hit 4th gear). One bottle would last us a weekend for sure maybe two depending on how much racing we did.

Are any of you running a pressure gauge on the bottle? I was just curious at what PSI does it start to affect performance? My buddy with a Jetta 1.8T (who's nitrous kit I'm installing on my car this weekend) seems to be a little more sluggish when the bottle is around 800 psi or so. He even purchased a warmer to heat the bottle and expand the gas so the pressure stays high when he's flowing alot.

I recently purchased a Gen x2 upgrade kit(NX) & a remote bottle opener...They will be installed this staurday...I heard optimal pressure is 900....I'll tell you this...w/ out a bottle warmer...(the weather/bottle cold)the pressure is really low...and that's when you get that rich/sluggish condition...Anyone w/ a Nitrous kit..please buy a botlle warmer...it'll suprise you every time...

Only 2 more days till i get it all installed..

I installed the kit last weekend, and we installed a guage and a warmer. My warmer keeps my bottle around 950 psi and it's pretty strong. When I shut the warmer off and purge the line, the pressure drops to around 750 or so. I get around 10 good shots off the bottle before the pressure drops below 900 even with the warmer on. Usually then I'll get one more weak shot, and it's down to 600 or so. Then I'll just refill the bottle as it's not even doing 10 hp or so at that point.

What size shot you using? Also do you mean 10 runs...or to shots!

B/c every time i change gears i start a new shot!

yeah, I meant runs. I usually stop hitting it around 80 mph or so. Right now it's jetted for 50, but I was thinking of going for 60 or 75.

Becarefull...I would suggest using the NX octane booster when you go over 50shot..but others would say..go for it!!

Chas

P.S. and don't go over a 75 shot...with out a way to retard the timing!!
