IHI VJ-20 vs VJ-22
I was looking at my new BPT motor:) and checking out the Turbo. I thought that the GT-X ran the IHI-VJ-20 and the GT-R ran the IHI VJ-23. I have a IHI-VJ-22 Turbo on my motor.
Does anyone know the differences in the models? Rick |
Here's a link to a picture of my Turbo label.
http://groups.msn.com/RKProtege/prot...hoto&PhotoID=7 I can't find anything on the VJ-22. I found this info from Peter Manning: VJ-6 Very early '85 - '86 BFMR Japanese Imports VJ-12 Early '86 BFMR Japanese Imports VJ-13 '86 - '87 BFMR Japanese Imports VJ-14 American BF Model 323GTX VJ-16 Upgrade turbo available in the US VJ-17 Group A turbo used in the WRC VJ-20 BG Model 323 GTX (1800cc) Jap Imports VJ-23 323 GTR |
The VJ-22 is still a GTX motor turbo. It is the same as the VJ-20 except it has a bigger inlet. Hope this helps.

So would the larger inlet make the spool times slower or faster?
Are all IHI RHB5 ballbearing turbo like the RHF6CB on the GTR? |
rhb5 ihi turbos are not ball bearing
