Help with NOS
 

i have a 02 PR5 and just purchased a nitrous works wet kit and was wandering if any has install this type of kit on there PR5 and could give me some install instruction an how to put this on mine.

Just follow the directions.. The hardest part is going to be mounting the WOT switch. After that it's all downhill.

As for setup, start with a new set of regular spark plugs. NGK's are good, Autolites are cheap. Get a plug one range colder than stock and gap it to stock specs. Unless you're gap is usually wide, stock gap should be just fine.

Start with the 35hp or smallest power level that comes with the kit. Run though the gears on nitrous, come to a stop, shut the engine off and pull ALL YOUR SPARK PLUGS. They should be a light tan color and have no specs on them at all.

Install a new set of plugs, change your jetting to 50hp. If after that everything looks fine, then leave it their for a couple of weeks to see how your clutch and varous other parts react to the added power.

Always use 91 octane fuel or higher. Since if I remember correctly the P5 is rated to use 87 octane fuel, 91-93 octane should provide you with enough ROM to use up to a 100hp.

When your get your bottle filled try to make sure it's about room temp, otherwise you'll only get about 8-9lbs of nitrous in a warm bottle. Take it out of direct sunlight before filling.

I would sugges you find an empty road or drag strip for testing. Mostly so you can get your tuning, but also to see your improvement in ET and trap speed at various power levels. This provides answers so you can help others also.

Using a 100-shot may be possible with a wet kit...but dont expect to get more than a couple runs out of your engine/tranny.

I wouldnt go with anything above 75-shot....and use some octane boost...NOS makes a good one.

the fuel line is black and is located under the intake box, ummm i dunno really how to explain it without pics,

but the 75 shot has been working great, ive been running it for 3 weeks now

the only problem ive had, well not really a problem, is the exhuast over heating, this past Saturday it got pretty hot, I have stock exhaust, you might wanna get bigger piping if you plan on running the n2o. Imj pretty sure if I dont it will lead to a melted Cat which WOULD NOT BE GOOD, so im gonna lay off the spray until then.

but heres some numbers for you

50 shot = 15.4 @90MPH (well for me)

75 shot = I dunno yet, i havent gone to the track with a full bottle, but according to the HP calculator (superhonda.com) I'll have a 94MPH Trap Speed, so who knows.
