there is no such thing as a "recirculated blow off valve"

it's either a blow off valve or it's a by-pass valve

The idea behind the BOV is to "blow" the pressure into the atmosphere.
Another method is a BPV, which put the pressure back into the system before the turbo.
A BOV is much better for spool up and effectivness, A BPV is less effective but it ALOT quieter.

yeah i have no idea, i was told once from someone on here, that i should recirculate it. then what does this do?? http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=799

this is where i got the idea of recirculating the air from.http://www.protegeclub.com/forum/sho...threadid=20065

I am not sure about your engine but I'm pretty sure its the same. I know that my 1990 has an airflow meter. So basically once the air is past the meter it is "accounted" for. If you expel some of it into the atmosphere there is no way to account for the loss, leaving the engine with less air then the computer thinks there is. So basically, it will provide fuel for the amount of air it thinks there is leading to a rich condition.

A bypass valve will instead flow the air back into the intake behind the meter so there would be no loss of "accounted" air.

Hope this helps, if anyone has a different opinion please let us know.

thanks MIK for the response, thats my understanding on what it does too, but im no expert.

Funny , I remember Jesse Dillow ,(I think I spelled his name right) telling me that using the recirculating method, BPV , but he had a BOV I think and rerouted the expelling air back into the system and he said that it was much better for the motor than letting the air out into the atmosphere, I will try and find his email so you can email him .....
