BOV problems, please help!

This is concerning my 88 323GT- I got my HKS Super Sequential BOV in the mail today. I got it all
hooked up, and it works great, except for one thing. My A/F gauge is stuck at rich. The car idles fine, and the BOV works perfect. I disassembled the BOV to see if the spring was busted or something and it looks OK. One weird thing I noticed is that adjusting the screw on the back doesn't tighten the spring, it moves a stopper which limits the travel on the acutal valve movement. I dunno if it is supposed to be like this. It was bought used off ebay, so keep that in mind too. Didn't look like it had been taken apart before though. Another strange thing is I noticed a lot of vapor coming out the exhaust when it's running rich like this. I suppose that is normal when it's idling super-rich though. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix the problem please let me know. I don't wanna go and put the old cow BOV back on again. Thanks a lot, Mike

BOV is between VAF and throttle body, right? VAF reads 100% of air and BOV dumps lets' say 50%. Engine gets fueling for 100% only with 50% air coming in. It will be rich.
Look into getting recirculating type BOV-but I am not sure how they function. They must be used with MAF or VAF cars.
I belive that HKS is atmospheric type. Another way-get Apexi SAFC and lean mixture out.
Note-it's just a suggestion, my knowledge of turbos is very basic :)
