Bipes ACU

HI!

Are there anybody who tried to use this unit in their protege?

http://www.roadsterperformance.com/tech/acu/

Should it work well in a custom made turbo protege?
Please write!

That sounds like a pretty nice piece of equipment.

2nd gen Protege ECU (usually most Mazda ECUs) go into Open Loop mode when you are driving at Wide Open Throttle. When using OL, the ECU ignores most sensors (precise TPS position, MAF reading, O2 sensors, etc) and uses stored fuel and ignition maps from the factory. Therefore, piggyback units like the BIPES won't do much good.

But this device device can do the same as the MSD 6 BTM timing retard unit, wich is necessary for turbo conversations. It's a timing retard unit, not a piggy back.(If i don't mistake). That's why i asked if it could be good for our protege.
