Anyone have a idea on this??

Hey everyone, whats going on. I was wondering if anyone could happen to know around, just in a ballpark estimate of how much it would cost to get an engine rebuild with all forged internals. I would buy all the stuff that is needed, such as the rods pistons gaskets etc etc. And just wanted a ballpark estimate of a rebuld for my engine. Its a 02 P5, thanks. Do you think 1800 is too cheap or would it be more like around 3000. Again thanks.

a BUILT engine is about $3500-4200...parts are less but you pay for the maching and assembly.

D_Roc1320 January-13th-2006 02:37 PM

So lets say I buy all the parts and everything. And all that needs to be done is the machining and installing, would it still be around the 3500-4200 mark?

No. If oyu have a 1.6L, I don't know how much it would cost, but those prices are a little high. MAM's 2.0L built shortblocks are only $2999

Anarchistchiken January-13th-2006 06:41 PM

That includes all parts (rods, pistons, etc)

Last I heard his built shortblocks were $3500...with options they could be over $4000...this was of course before he had all of his troubles...he's lowered someof his prices.

He now uses custom h-beam rods that are almost half the price of the olivers too

Roddimus Prime January-14th-2006 03:27 AM

non-nameb rand internals that are half the price? I dunno how I feel about that.

Anarchistchiken January-14th-2006 08:28 AM

Well they hold half the horsepower too. They're rated at 500 instead of the 900 or 1000 that the Olivers are.

D_Roc1320 January-15th-2006 03:03 AM

yeah because i know that mental addiction has a built protege 2.0 motor for 2995, i was more or less talking about labor and machining and everything. Thats all.
