Windshield repair

I wasn't too sure where to post it, so it's going here for now.
Anybody heard or seen this product?

I've got a lot of minor chips out of my windshield from rocks over the winter. This stuff looks like it really may do the trick, but I've never seen the stuff anywhere! Anybody know about it??
Thanks.

LOL! Where did you buy it from? I haven't seen it at CanTire up here...I'll have to go check today at lunch. :D

That might be a decent product, but IMO, just wait it out and replace the windshield.

1 year = 25,000 miles on my P5. My windshield looks almost as bad as my Camaro's used to - 1979 ORIGINAL GLASS.

I think the glass basically sucks. 25,000 miles has really put a beating on my windshield - it is badly "speckled" and "sparkles" badly when driven into the sun - makes the car look like it has 100,000 miles, not 25k.

I plan on calling Mazda to complain - at least sometime before the warranty is up. I doubt I'll get anywhere with that, but might be worth a shot. No matter what, I will have to replace the glass at some point, and I will be researching to find a QUALITY windshield.

This is the first car I have ever owned where it seems like the windshield might be a "routine mainenance" thing. I'm not impressed, but it's one of my very few complaints about the car.

I have a feeling it would render the windshield wipers virtually useless.

I just can't imagine that stuff is a smooth as glass - might give some nasty optical distortions, etc.

And truth is, if there was a real way to protect the windshield, someone would've thought of it already. Oh, yeah - they did - plexi on racecars! Just replace it every 500 miles :p

Ok, I'm confused now Doc....did you mean the chip repair stuff or the :what if you put that clear safety film stuff on the outside....when it starts to discolour or crack just replace it" idea?

I really want to fix my chips b/c I was paranoid ALL winter that it was gonna crack and blow my windshield.

Also, I totally agree that this windshield bites. Mine is all scratched and pitted....horrendous. I'm trying to find a window polish called Autoglym to see if it'll help, but I can't find it so far :(

My windshield is all scratched to hell too. I think that I will probably just replace it eventually. It isn't that expensive, I was quoted $250cnd installed. I'll wait and see how it looks in a couple of months before I decide.
