Window Visors
 

Anyone know of any other brands of window visors for P5's? I don't like the VentShade ones because they're too bubbly. I saw a P5 a few weeks before I got mine and theirs was pretty much flat. Looked sweet. Anyone know?

WeatherTech has their weatherflectors. They are pretty "low profile"

If you do a search there are various pictures.

I've found only one problem, I think I know what causes it but I'm not sure what to do about it. It seems like when they stay wet for a long time (with the window open underneath), water can catch along the upper edge and capillary action can take it up into the window groove. When that happens, you get a few drops along the inside of it.

It doesn't seem like a big deal, and the only real solution I can think of is putting a couple of grooves on the outside or inside to guide the water away. I'd rather not scratch them up (and I've only seen this happen once), so I think I'm going to live with it.

Those are the WeatherFlectors on my car before I got the windows tinted - and no, they do not affect the tint in any way. I love these - so much nicer than the tape-on crap from VentShade. I got mine from Mitch at www.protege5online.com - $88 shipped.

Something I forgot
 

Leaving all four windows open by 1.5-2 inches (close to the bottom of them) on a hot sunny day really does a nice job of keeping the inside of the car cooler than it would be otherwise. I use a sunshade as well but haven't had the kind of ovenlike interior that I used to get (and it's been sunny with highs in the 90s much of this month).

I have a 2002 Protege ES. I just got my weatherflectors 2 days ago. I love them, they look great. I ordered them directly from the www.weathertech.com website. They was offering 10% off the price of the 4-door set when I ordered. I just checked their website and they are not offering the 10% discount anymore. Anyways, they look great and allow you to leave the windows down about 1" to 1 1/2" safely. They also don't create any more wind noise around the door windows than what was already there before I installed them.
