would the gauges out of a 2002 work. Not sure about the sedan but my P5's are white backed.

20OMZ May-16th-2003 01:53 AM

The 2002 are different, you can bye them out of the 2003 model but you have to bye them genuine ones and there around the $2000 mark for the whole console, i was just wondering if the made aftermarket ones for the 2000 model. Thanks anyways mate

The risk with aftermarket ones is that you'll most likely end up breaking your needles trying to put the faces on, and then you'l have to buy a whole new cluster anyway. I'm not sure how the trim levels work over there, but here the white gauges came factory in any "ES" level Protege. (The P5 is only available in ES trim level.)

If you go to a wrecking yard and find a 2002 323 / Protege / Familia (whatever it is in your area) you should be able to locate an intact white faced gauge cluster for relatively cheap. New ones from the dealer are about $400 USD.

Like I said, this is the best bet, but you'll get red lighting instead of the green you have now.

I thought you could just bye the white faces then put the red bulbs behind it instead of the blue and green ones, dont know..... it's fu@%ed over here no body is doing up these protege's i should move to America or where you guys are from..... Ive already looked at the wreckers and no body in Queesland (thats the state i come from in Australia) has crashed a 2000 protege or the sports sedans, it sucks. i want to get a new front bar and the white guages and the back axel with the disc breaks in it but im waiting for acrash to happen.... (shouldn't be saying that)

2000? Any 2001-2003 will work too.

I know it may be a long trek across the outback, but try your neighboring provinces as well. People in AUstrailia can't be that good of drivers that no one has wrecked a single 323 from 2001 up! :o :D

ya come on mate :D no one has crashed a car i wish they would though...... i was looking through a magazine last night and they do make white gauges for an Astina ( P5 ) do you think they will fit in the sedan..... think there the same. But there is a piece of plastic behind it and that is green, the bulbs are clear, i want it to be red,

What should i do now!!!!!!!

A) paint it red
B) dont do any thing
C) bye a whole new dash
D) i want an sports sedan LOL

they do make Reverse glow and regular lit gauges, or you could stay with the stock look and do the ES or P5 Gauge Cluster Swap. White with (well in your case) green numbers and letters unless u use the p5 bulbs the gauges will be only things orange.
I dont know bout center console light bulb configurations, if u could change them out to also be orange or not. i think they would look cool with the ES/P5 Cluster with the green bulbs. instead of orage.
:D

It would be the first one in the world i guess with the green and white :D ill see what i come up with i still have to see if i can find a smashed 2002 model and take out the cluster..... Thanks

I bought the indigloo(correct me for spelling) gauges of ebay about 11 months ago and I love them they light blue/ green. I did brake the needles of the temp. But if I was you I think I would go with the reverse indigloo gauges that I think they still have on ebay.

mygreenmazda May-19th-2003 04:31 PM

Hey 99 protege es I never heard that they could light up in red. you have any pics in red at night.

99 protege es May-20th-2003 12:55 AM

i dont have a pic at night i was talking about the colors that are on the gauges themselves not the whole thing lighting up red just the redline on the tach and little kmp markings, things like that

20OMZ May-20th-2003 02:13 AM

I cant wait to fit them in, can you take the needle out before you put the guages in? cause i think it would be hard to find a needle round here!!!!!
