What Stereo settings sound best

what settings do you think sound best?
For mine:

Bass: 2 units past center
Treble: 3 units past center
Mid: centered
Fade: 2 units rear
left/right : centered (duh)

I have the same settings..though I vary the bass sometimes..........(shakin' )..and the mid I'm +1

The stereo on the Proteges not MP3/MSP have relatively little power hence when you crank the base too high it makes a cracking and booming, unnatural base sound. When you crank the treble too high, the sound hisses. However, it has excellent midrange, its very clear as far as stereos in econoboxes go.

Base for me is +2 off center.
Mid is +3.
Treble is +2.

I have the fade adjusted I think +1 or 2 rear since the rear speakers are placed in a somewhat "bad" position for the front passenger to hear. They might be smaller too, although I'm not sure, but I can say the fronts are better.

Since I'm into the beatz, I have the following:

Bass +6
Mid -3
Treb +1
Fade +0
Bal +0

Of course! Just like color! I mean, if I was a flamer I might have gotten a silver car, but... :p ;)

When it was stock I had it set at:
Bass +1
Mid -2
Treble +1
Fade and Balance were centered.

Now with my new speakers and amp everything is at 0 except treble is -1.

personal preference dude. :) i have mine flat, but i am running my system thru an eq...

some ppl like more bass, others (like my dad) need to hear the highs. the stock p5 is very mid-rangey but overall has a decent sound to them. i personally like a little more highs, but my midbass is VERY important. subs (believe it or not) is not as important to me as my frontstage...

good luck on ur settings! :D

demoninvictus March-15th-2003 01:12 AM

on my alpine
bass:
level +5
bass width +2
frequency 70hz

treble:
level +5
frequency 80hz

HPF: 120hz

LPF: 80hz

settings on my head unit help kill some mids just enough to help my ears out (less vocal and more musical if that means anything to you). settings seem to be universal and need no tweaking for rock, rap, or some of my girlfriend's soft-rock crap. even great with acoustical, live and classical types as well :D. to tell you the truth, my soundstage is nicely balanced, pounding bass that will give you a back massage from the front seat when you want one, good pulsating beats when you just want to add bass (no folks, not drown out your other speakers with bass), and great sounding on classical music, which i know very few systems with a good sound playing new york new york, philly orchestra style ;)
peace
