What Speakers For 92 DX?

I have a 92 DX and I heard that the rear speakers are 5 1/4. Same as in the door? Is this true? And how much trouble/money would it cost to convert it or whatever to fit 6x9's or something bigger than 5.25's?

6.5's fit the back although you will need to drill new mounting holes in the metal. I don't know if there's a factory adapter for a 5.25" speaker or not, I bought mine with an aftermarket stereo already installed which was very ghetto.

I wouldn't bother with 6x9's although all you would need to do is cut a baffle out of thin (3/8") plywood to fit the 6x9 speaker, and drill holes in the metal of the rear deck so the baffle stays put.

Goto that link and you can check out the 6 1/2 speakers they have for your car. crutchfield usually carries alot of shit that you can't find. Prices are ok i guess.

At first, I had 2 pioneers 6x9 in the rear - only real way in making them fit are cuting the metal. I just had them sticking out. I went ahead and bought the sony explode speakers. I think they are 5.25 or might be the next size up..... They fit almost perfect but the driver side window *rubbs against the one....

So would buying four 5.25's be a good fit for the doors and rear? Is a 6.5 too big for the doors ya think?
