[url]will have it all done by about mid summer 2003.
not included in pic:
- new alternator 170amp+
- dual yellow top Optima bats
- 5 farad Bat cap
- all fuzes, wires, video switchers etc.
- fiberglass and mdf wheel well enclosure for low pro install, for
max trunk space. Yellow fiberglass and black vinyl.
- Yellow neon in the amp racks.
- 2 way pager alarm/starter combo.

This install is for show and spl, insatller claims I can hit 140+ db with out sweating the amps.
Heard a dual 10w7 insall, almost crushed my head.
cant wait to hear it in the P5, lots of people are claiming these cars are good for spl. We'll have to see.:bt:

i like what you're planning, BUT, something tells me you're not gonna see it thru. only because new stuff will come out and you'll probably want that more than what's in your diagram. i mean, mid summer 2003 is a loooooooong time away! that car audio bug will bite you more times than you can count! :D

but it's a cool future system. :)

with the power I would do 2 10W7s unless of coarse it would throw you intoa higher class or somwthing. Also the 5001 JL can easily handle a 10W7

Cost is not a problem. but you maybe right onehawaiian, there may be a few different things that come out before the install is done that I might change. For sure the 12w7 is staying. the whole thing will be peace by peace buy, starting in october so if some new tech comes out b4 i buy a certain peice i'll be checking it out.
This will be my third comp install so the wait isnt a problem for me neither are the finances.
:D

Since they W7s are pretty much one of the biggest leaps in subs in year and the JL amps are Jeff scoons design, I sure they are amoung the best to be seen for years.

My question is why the Kicker midbass drivers as apposed to the JL XR 6 1/2s or a JL 3 way set?

very tru... thats a couple G's right there dood. If u stick with that setup...next year the prices will drop becasue of it being older technology and older models. So u might save a few $$$.

But still....thats alot of money right there.

I've got the X-box already, so there's some of my cost shavin.
I'll look into the red top, thanks. thats one thing I'm still looking into.
as for the Kickers, these midbass drivers rock. but I also may change out later, my installs still in the womb waiting to be born.
For now one TV, maybe when its in, the cost of monitors here in Canada will have come down and I'll do the headrest insalls.
Just remeber car audio is never ending, and an audiophile never stops untill he blows his car up:bt:
Doin all my exterior mods first, so when I'm done I'll be checkin the new gear. But the 12w7 says!:p
Thanks for the info on the redtops I'll check it out.

If it's supposed to be a 5.1 system, get a set of coaxes for the rear & pick up a center channel & run it off your deck. The midbass won't give you a proper imaging for a 5.1 system. If it's going to be an SQ system, ditch the rear fill altogether, get the XR 3-way set instead & pick up a 300/2 instead of the 300/4. Also, red-top is more reliable but the yellow top puts out more juice & is recommended by Optima for car audio. Just my $0.02.

Here is my 2 cents!

I suggest Van Den Hul speaker wire ...

For from and read use SkyLine or better the SnowLine (silver wire) serie and for the sub use CS-122 or better the CC - 18 (Metal free, all carbon)

Van Den Hul Web Site
