upgrading LED Tail lights
 
so whats the deal with the led taillgihts? i have seen them on the xenon store for 230 dollars shipped...... does anyone have thme? does the weatherstripping work on them or am i just better off stickin with stock tail lights? thanks

Mazda3. If there were taillights like those for the Protege5 I would have had them years ago :)

Besides good looks, LED tail lights have at least two practical advantages.

1) they last a very long time. there is no filiment to burn out over time.

2) they light up a tiny fraction of a second quicker than regular bulbs. this gives the guy behind you a little bit more reaction time when you put on your brakes.

You might have noticed that many big-rig trucks use them now for these two reasons.

3) they really aren't expensive either :)

4) They're way more efficient than filament bulbs
5) They're monochromatic
