update on P5 custom enclosures-

Just wanted to update everyone of my progress--
I had a pretty good prototype in the works, that is until I got one bad gallon of fiberglass resin that was old and would not harden. Needless to say, I had to ditch the "gooey box" and start all over. Just a tip for anyone who wants to do any fiberglass work--check the date on your resin before you buy it. Resin has a shelf life just like perishable foods and if it is old no amount of hardener, heat or any other catalyst will make it harden. I was even patient and thought that maybe I mixed the hardener wrong, but after two days of waiting for the box to cure, I thought to check the date on the resin. The store that I got it from gave me my money back, but I still lost the time I spent on it which put me behind schedule.
The good news is that I started (and finished) the back of a new one last night. It looks like I am going to be be able to get at least a cubic foot out of these if not more because I found a sneeky place to come up with a little bit of additional airspace. Once I get the first one completed, I will post up pics and start taking orders and then I will build them as they are ordered. Feel free to reply with any questions.

Sounds good!

I hate it when places sell stuff that doesn't work...only to ruin a weeks work

How much do you think you will sell it for?

I would love to see pics. I am considering dumping my spare tire because I don't want to lose the trunck space for a sub so I would just have the spare tire well fiberglasses or build up the spare tire well to accomodate a sub

Cool man! I will be looking a picking up one for a 12" sub. If the pics come out good, I will order one right away! Well depends on shipping that is!;)

My advice would be to not ditch your spare. If you ever need it, you'll be kicking yourself. Been there, done that.

As of right now, the enclosure is still pretty light, so it shouldn't be too bad, but I haven't checked shipping rates to HI yet. I had planned on using priority US mail and so far I can tell you that the back of the enclosure weighs 13 pounds. I'd probably guess double that once the front is on it which is $59.50 priority mailed to Honolulu (the only place in HI that I had an address for because I spent my honeymoon there)and insured for $200.00 with return reciept. Priority mail takes three days to get there, but they also have parcel post for $33.94 and media mail for $10.84. Both take 3-6 weeks. Hope this helps. (Or you could just come vacation in Vegas and pick one up while you are here)

I had posted preliminary prices of $175.00 plus shipping for 10 inch versions and $200.00 plus shipping for 12 inch versions, but these prices may vary slightly because until I have one completed, I'm not positive how much each one costs me to build. I will post more info as soon as I know.

hey PRO 5, got any pics of your car? I have 18"x7.5" Giovanna Kobe's with Toyo Proxes 215/35/18 tires and I wanted to get the GC coilovers, but It looks like I'll rub. Did you do anything special to get your wheels to fit?

dude, if you're gonna mail to hawaii, go priority. it'll be around $60+ but should be here in 3-5 days. forget about all the other stuff (media, parcel) cause it takes waaaaay too long to get here.

i would like to see pics too. i'm starting on my enclosure this week, but still wanna see how yours turns out.

SOLD!!! Hey maxxbling that sounds good to me! I tried to post a pic of my car but I can't do it. I'm still working on it though. As far as the offset it is or was 45. The reason why I say was is because I sold them to help me with going turbo!
