research your canadian traffic laws...I know here in Washington they're illegal while your vehicle is moving on publi roads...but if your parked and kicking it you can have them on...one of my buddies has underbody neons and forgot to turn them off and got a $86 ticket....

The Neon Light kits are legal in Canada as long as you can't see the actual light sticks/bulbs sticking out from under your car. Same with neon lights in the car...as long as you can't see the actual bulbs/glow sticks, your fine.

AS far as i know, they are illegal everywhere. (thats if u get caught) the only reason they are illegal is when ur driving they can catch somones eye...and they dont pay attention to the road. Other than that theres no reason NOT to have em. Im thinkin bout a Blue set for my car. maybe green....:D

Under car neons for anyone in Ontario:

Info from my local OPP station, 2 blocks from my home.

When the Traffic Act was written, under car neons were never even dreamed of, same with window tint, windshield banners, etc. so the police have to interperet certain portions of the Act and how it would pertain to the situation. If they site the portion about only white light being emitted from the front of the vehical ANY colour neon is illegal! If they site the portions about the colour of lights on emergency or snow removal vehicals then only those colours are illegal. etc..etc..etc.

The officer that pulls you over has the ability to determine if in your case the lights consitute a danger to you or other drivers, if so he can ticket you. You can fight it but 99 times out of 100 the judge will side with the officer, right or wrong. Of course if somehow you can prove there is no danger or sight other cases you may get off.

What it comes down to is if the cop doesn't like you, your car or what your doing he'll give you a ticket. As the officer told me if you get stopped for something else or suspicion of something you'll get a ticket.

Does the the term "gray area" sound about right?
