Trim removal question

I would like to say that I posted this on the general forum as well but then I found this place and I think it is a better place for this question. So...

I have been toying with the idea of fixing some very annoying creaks and rattles originating from the plastic trim that surrounds the CD changer (I have the 6 CD changer option). I am talking about the silver trim immediate to the changer and the fake carbon fiber trim. How can I remove these pieces without scratching or breaking anything? I plan on sticking some adhesive felt to the back side of them and put everything back together so I can quite down some of the annoying noises coming from that area.

Thanks a bunch,
Florian

I think you should be able to pull it off carefully by sticking like an old credit card or the like in between the creases. Silver and Carbon fiber do not separate without problems. But I dont think your squeeks would be coming from that place, I'd check lower near the ashtray.

Noises are coming from the silver trim. I verified that by pressing onto it in different locations while driving and noises disappear. Mazda took the cheap route on that thing. I am going to insulate the back of the silver trim with felt so no plastic on plastic contact (and thus noises) occurs.
