just a suggestion, bite the bullet and get it professionally detailed, and try to keep up with washing and esp. waxing it. That stuff hardens into almost like amber in trees! At least professionals may be able to use something like steam to loosen the integrity of the sap enough to remove it off your car entirely. Then if you are faithful with washing and waxing, it'll keep it down. Sucks not having a garage doesn't it? I don't have one neither. Only other option would to buy a car cover, but I imagine it gets old having to remove that thing every time you go some where!

Kleen-flo hand cream, the white jelly works good for sap on hands and probably wouldn't hurt the car. It's just a degreaser. It worked on my old cavelier to get the oxydization off (old red faded junk)and bring back the shine, but I don't know about the newer paints used on todays cars. Give it a try under the hood or the bottom inside of the door to make sure it don't wreck the paint. Just my 2 cents, Good luck!
