Tint Percentage with Pics
 

I just got a quote to get my P5 tinted but the guy has only 35% and up. I hate limo types but I have no idea what 35% looks like, I was thinking 10-15%. I'm really not a fan of tint at all but I figure it will actually be beneficial to the leather to be more protected from the rays.

Could we start a post so the P5 owners get a good idea of the different percentages on their cars with actual pics.

I actually don't think I understand what the percentage means?

The number stands for the amount of light it lets in, so the lower the number, the darker the tint.

My P5 has 35% on the sides and 20% for the rear window. ;)

The reason that the guy wants to sell you 35% and up is that (I know you don't live in Cali, but here at least) anything darker is illegal.

Actually it was my understanding of the percentage, the tint dude only had 35% and lower because he does not get too many callsfor lighter tint, now it makes sense to me. So I'm thinking probably 50% is what I would like and maybe, just maybe 35% cause it looks so hot on your car.

I wish it was legal to have any tint on the front side windows in Iowa. I was always thinkin it was 35% but then I got pulled over for it a couple times and got a ticket both times cuz supposedly it's 75% .. so that makes it both pointless and nearly impossible to tint your windows. :mach: Good ol' Iowa
