Tint-King Canada?

Any comments on Tint-King in Toronto / Markham area? Is it any good?

I'm planning to do a 38% tint on my P5. Where would you recommend? I guess not the dealer... right?

E-Diddy April-23rd-2003 11:11 PM

Dude...don't do it. I heard tint king ain't that great. I went to thornhill tint, richard (owner) did a great job. I got my p5 done. It cost $210 i think for all windows plus the sunroof. I also got the sunstrip for the front, which cost $20. It's lifetime warranty (as long as YOU own the vehicle).

As well, i don't think you can do 38% tint man. You can get 50%, 35%, 20%, 5%.

Check out the brands of tint they offer. I got Johnson's Tint on my car and it looks great. All I can say is that go for the name brand that will give you a lifetime warranty. Nothing worse then getting cheap tint that will turn purple, bubble and then crack.

Really? Where can I find Thornhill Tint then?
How about FX Auto Tinting in Markham (opposite side to Markville Mall)?

E-Diddy April-24th-2003 12:26 AM

I heard FX auto offers discount for us protegeclub members (more notably toprotege.com members i think), but their prices are still more expensive than thornhill tint.

Here's the contact info:

kool
i'll check them out later this week
my friend has his RSX done somewhere else, and he's got all the bubbles on the rear glass...

E-Diddy April-24th-2003 12:34 AM

yea u really gotta be selective when it comes to these things. I got mine done when it was still freezing cold (like almost two months ago). My tint had no bubbles at all, and even if it did, no problemo. Just to go Richard to get it re-done. No worries.

SirTidus April-24th-2003 12:35 AM

which brand of film did you pick?

E-Diddy April-24th-2003 12:45 AM

i didn't really specify. His films are premium quality ones, scatch and fade-resistant. Can't go wrong w/ that. As well, you can ask him for colours (I chose the generic black, but he also has like blue, green, bronze and red i think).
call him up and check it out man.

SEA_P5 April-24th-2003 12:54 AM

Remember to check out the tint rules in your area.

I read ours in Washington State and the colored ones are illegal. Yours maybe different, better safe then sorry.

I chose the standard gray or black tint.

E-Diddy April-24th-2003 12:58 AM

sea_p5: yeap I checked things out before i got my tint job done. In Toronto, Canada, there's no tint colour restrictions. Our only restriction is that the 35% tint is the lowest u can go for the driver's windows (and the passenger side of course). No tint allowed in the front windshield (except for sunstrip on the top), and u can tint as dark as you want for all other windows.

FX Auto

SirTidus, I had my tint done by FX Auto and I am very happy with their work. I have heard of members of TOprotege getting a bit of a break. I believe the price they were getting was $250 taxes in for the best grade of tint they carry. Not 100% on the details. You might want to go to their message board. http://msg.toprotege.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi
Small bubbles are normal for the first couple weeks. The sun will heat up the film and they will smooth out. If your friend has them more than a couple weeks later then he has a problem.
