Sound deadening
I thinking of using the dynomat to sound deadening my doors. When I installed my speakers the first time there was a sheet of plastic in the door panal. What is it there for and does it need to be there? Also if anybody has any tips on doing this I would appreciate it.

The plastic is there as a moisture barrier and to cut drafts and noise a little.I've dynamatted my doors as well as spray deadend them internally.
One thing I will point out is, be patient when pulling the door panels.:o I hope this helps:D |
Did you remove the plastic or just go right over it with the dynamat? Did it make a big difference when you did it? I don't have alot of music but the rattles coming from the doors are driving me crazy.:)

When i did mine, i removed the plastic, being in Tampa, you should be fine. If you wanted to, put the plastic on last over the deadener. Yes made a difference for the good, i also added speaker baffles at the time, they tightened things up a bit.
You may want to wrap the door pull and doorlock rods and wire looms with foam tape. |
I agree as well .I did it the same way!:D
