small pin switches, mounting in P5 hatch?
 

Hello,
2 large pin switches came w/ my Crime Guard alarm. I was able to mount one under the hood, but I haven't really found any decent place to mount one in the hatchback. Has anyone else had success with this?

If I had a smaller pin switch, I think I've identified a place, but the pin switch I have is similar to a 1.5" bolt, and it needs about 0.3" below that for the pin to displace to. Can anyone point me to a supplier of a _small_ pin switch?

I beleive the hatch already has a pin switch, along with all the doors.

There's no pin switch that I can find on the P5. In fact, the light for the hatch area is on a manual switch. There's no convenient mount for the pin switch, and that's probably why Mazda cheaped out on this "feature".

the rear light is, in fact triggered by a switch built into the latch and will turn on the rear hatch light when opened. The switch must be in the correct position though. Connect the alarm wire to the switch wire that changes state when the hatch is opened. (psst, it's the red/green wire and it's a negative trigger) No need to add a pin switch.

Thanks Darryl, I'm glad I posted the question. I found the signal, spliced into it, and snaked it up the driver's side. The Mazda salesperson had told me that if you leave the hatch light on, you'll burn out the battery, and that it was a manual light. Having seen no pin switches, I believed him. I never would have thought of a psuedo-pin-switch built into the lock. Thanks again.
