single 12 or dual 10s
I have a single 12' sub right now... it's hitting pretty nice.... but i've been thinking...should i get dual 10s instead... it covers more area than a single 12... or mayb i should upgrade to dual 12s...

I used to have two 12" sony xplod's. Now I have ONE 10" Kicker Comp VR. The one 10 sounds WAYYYYY better than the 2 12's ever did. But then again its Kicker vs. Sony. Thats like aplle's and orange's. It all depends on what sub you buy and the enclosure you put it in.

I think you should just upgrade to a better single 12

i have a JL amp and a single JL 12WO sub...JL audio is pretty good... any other recommendations.....sorry..i've been told sony sux.......

Also, if you do decide to do that, it would be more economical to get another 12 (namely another W0 if it is the same one to match your existing sub). There are better subs in my opinion that cost much less, but if you already have the W0 and are thinking of another, it just makes more since to do so with the same kind. If you want a totally different set, then I can suggest some other brands. I started out years back with two kicker 10's and then went to two 12's and like them because they were tight and accurate, but a little louder and I wouldn't lose bass at high volumes. I thought of the 12s as a great compromise to overboard and the right amount. Again, my opinion. Today I have two 12s but think I could have gone with two 10s and would have been just as satisfied. Nowadays, they have come a long way with durability and loudness. Lastly, the enclosure can make all the difference in the world. MisterT |

i dont kno the stats about the box... it's custom..... the amp im using is the e2150... and i think it's giving the rated 125 watts to the sub....

the definition of custom is a very 'generic' term... on certain car audio forums, you can read at GREAT length of what the word custom box means (ie duct taped cardboard box, 5 gallon bucket, a cooler..etc.)
