Shift Knobs for MP5 autosport?

does anyone know if you can switch the shiftknob on the MP5 autosport? if so, does anyone have any pics?

Look for a universal knob or a screw-on with thread pitch M8x1.25mm. If it has a button to shift from reverse, etc., you'll need to use an aftermarket knob designated for automatics.

I have removed the knob from my non-sport auto (regular auto, 2002) shifter, and it was a pain in my ass.

I have no idea if the sport auto is the same, but I imagine it's easier because it has no O/D button.

Anyway - you can check this thread if you like - look for my loooong post. I describe how to remove the shifter on the regular auto - maybe it'll help some: http://www.protegeclub.com/forum/sho...5&pagenumber=2

no one has aftermarket shifters on their autosport MP5.

yeah it will be easier, its like a normal shift knob. turn it counter clockwise and you can remove it, at least i hope so.

ahh! where the haunted house was..:D we used to go there a lot before they open the price club on old country rd near borders and marshalls..

she moved out here for graduate school. i miss ny and the food, we were back there twice last year. but driving is a lot more fun out here and cheaper too (insurance). you get used to mexican food that's not taco bell and there some nyc food out here like pizza and sabrett franks. but i still can't find a decent italian restaurant, a good hoagie and a pastrami on club. :D

Or...where the haunted house STILL IS. ;). I'm about 2 miles from there, but I know the house even though they made exterior mods to change the look and avoid tourists - every so often, someone visiting from out-of-town wants to go there.

So true....I was in Arizona a few weeks ago, and DAMN - the Mexican food was outstanding. They even had a halfway-decent pizza joint in downtown Tucson, but of course it's called Brooklyn Pizza!! But there's nothing like NYC for a great slice. And you can't get a real bagel ANYWHERE else - it actually has something to do with the water used to make the doughs, and you can't "duplicate" the water anywhere. And no way anything beats a good NYC deli - where they pile the meat so high you can't fit your mouth around it. Yummm....pastrami.....:yumyum:

yeah i know what you mean. the pizza place here is called bronx pizza and the owner of course is from da bronx. when i first met him i told him i was from ny so i asked what the secret was to his pizza. he said he uses bottled water and not socal tap water. the bagel place we go to the owner was also from ny and he opened a kosher bagel place and he said the same thing he uses distilled water for the bagels. ny tap water is very light its very much like bottled water. pastrami on the other hand i have yet to find. we always went to Katz deli on ludlow and east houston in the city or we went to Ben's on old country or the one in bayside. the closest i found to ny pastrami was in san fran called tommy's joint. i had 3 in one sitting.:yumyum:

weird, the topic started about aftermarket shifters and now it turned into food places from home..:laugh2:
