Seat Upholstery Color Inqury.......

I own a vivid yellow 2002 Protege5, with the "standard" black cloth interior seats. I would like to have a upholstery shop remove the two main "strips" of material that make up the middle portion of the seat and replace them with a different colored fabric.

My question is: What color would look good?

My 1st thought of course was "YELLOW", since my car is yellow, but in practicality it would seem to get "dirty" very quick and not look good in the "long run".

Any Ideas..........?

Instead of a costly custom job, why not consider seat covers?

I know that if you search this forum, you will find many owners who bought custom-fit covers. I'm sure that you could find a color combination you like, or have one custom made for you.

Even so - an upholstery shop should be able to MAKE seat covers for you, rather than destroy and cannibalize your factory seats. It would most likely be cheaper, and would protect your factory seats for whenever you decide to sell the car. Custom-fit seat covers can look just like factory - no "bunching" or sliding like cheap stuff. And you'd also be able to remove them and throw them in the washing machine for cleaning!

Just a few ideas - I'd search the forum and the web for vehicle specific seat covers. IMHO, you'd be better off not ripping your seats apart, unless you wanted to go with the full leather treatment.

I "think" you just get it "done" in black. It's just my "opinion" but I think that would look the "best"

You have no "idea" how to use "quotation marks"

They have some really cool fabric cleaning products now that should keep it like new! :bt:

Thanks for the ideas...... I don't really like "seat covers", unless they are specially made of our seats, because I can't stand that "baggy" look that stock covers tend to have.

If and when I have the upholstery work done it will be done with QUALITY materials.....

Thanks again,
