Not sure why this thread didn't work but here were my ?s

1. What should i use to clean the interior of the windows since they are tinted now?

2. The rear window still has a few bubbles (got it done two days ago) should i worry or will this work itself out?

Also not trying to be mean but why do people keep posting to people to search something (first time for me but i've seen it the same search thing posted a bunch of times for other peoples ?s) ? if they don't feel like answering the ? then just don't answer why waste the time to post when you don't want to anyway.

I did a search earlier and couldnt' find a good answer, especially to the second question i asked. The first one i saw some answers to but figured i ask it also hoping for a better answer since i already wanted to know the other ? anyway.

Auto parts stores have glass cleaner for tinted windows. It usually says "Safe for tinted windows" on the outside of the bottle. The air bubbles should dry out after 4-5 days. Has it been warm where you are at?? Hope this helps. Later:)

Bring the car back to the tint shop...you should not be getting bubbles after 2 days. This is poor workmanship...this will lead to the tint to crack and when it does you will get some nasty and crusty windows.

well i'm covered for pretty much anything as long as the car is mine so if it isn't ok in a few more days i'll take it in.

We didn't get snow yet (supposed to) they did get some just a little ways north, guess its time to get my snowboard out.

My windows took nearly a week to clear up completely. And that was in the middle of summer and it was hot as hell. Now my tint is nearly flawless.

I'd give it at least a week before I got excited, especially since it is pretty cold out. I think it is pretty standard practice for tint shops to advise you not to roll down your windows for 48-72 hours, probably for a good reason. Some places will use a heat lamp to speed up the process, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions.

And I wouldn't comment on workmanship that I haven't seen.

thanks for the info, yeah i'm not putting the windows down for a few more days i want to give it plenty of time, better to wait longer than necessary than do it too soon an screw them up. hey what about the rear defogger? should i wait a few more days before using that? or would it maybe help a little?

whatever window cleaner you use...just ABSOLUTELY ENSURE there is NO AMMONIA in it....that is what will eat your tint.

and as for the bubbles....well its cold there..and it will take longer to have them all disappear....give your tint shop a call and ask them how long it should take......hope you got a lifetime warrantee....

it took mine a whole week to go away......and although it wasn't summer here...it damn sure wasn't as cold here as it is there.

Correct, Amonia is the enemy, although it's ok for an every 6 months cleaning, just not on a regualr basis. for years i've always just used a few drops of dish sop in a spray bottle of water...the bottle of dish sop goes a loooooooong way :D

It could take up to 2 weeks here in CA with some films, and if it's a all metal film, 3-4 weeks for a total bond.

use good old soap and water to clean. until it gets hot, there are going to be bubbles, it may be 6 months later, but that will cure. If you have some high intensity lights out your house,you could try just letting them shine on your back windshield all night, thats what we had to do with my friends integra after 3 months of bubbles, but until you window get some major heat, it will stay bubbled but the bubbles will come out as soon as you get some heat.

the tint shop that did my P-5's windows said exactly that....if you can avoid REAL window cleaners all together would be best...just a drop or two of dish soap in a spray bottle....it will do the trick.

I had my tint done in the hot summer months and it still took at least three weeks before the bubbles where gone.

Just a suggestion, you might try a hairdryer on the outside of the glass to work the bubbles out. Of course after waiting a couple weeks first.
As for safe cleaners for tint, I use Eagle One 20/20 which works well for me.

Does anybody know if its leagal to have as dark as you want windoow tints in the back windows?
