reverse guages...
i know this subject should be buried, but i've heard mixed scenarios when i did a search. once and for all, do the reverse guages slide over the needles easily? How many people have them? whos been successful and who hasn't? I'll buy them tomorrow if they do. thanks in advance.

guages
The guage for the speedo and tach are easy. the Guage for the Temp & Fuel is hell on earth. I have broken my temp one twice now, and am afraid to touch it now.

The temp and fuel was easy for me got it first tried, the speedometer was a bit of a pain but got on just fine.

Let me help you get the picture clearer from my prospective
As stated before and as you probably read endlessly, the needles are held with a piece of hair any wrong movements and they will break and they can not be fixed. You have to buy a whole new one It cost me $425 dollars to get a new one from the dealer that is the bad part the good part, is that the odometer is from 0 again yeah, so far, I have only 4K miles on my car when it should really have close to 16K The speedometer and the Tacho are real easy to slip for me the Feul and the Temp broke, even before I began sliding them over. Maybe it is me, but that is the commonly broken needle when something goes wrong |
www.tommotorsports.com has gauges that DO NOT need the needles removed....www.corksport.com has the same ones in MPH too!

Have you read this thread: http://www.protegeclub.com/forum/sho...&threadid=5212
??? The older style gauge faces had holes that were way too small to fit over the needles. The new style reverse gauges have large enough holes to fit over the needles but you have to be EXTREMELY PATIENT because the needles are VERY VERY fragile. I have reverse indiglos installed now and prefer them over the regular indiglos...they were really bright at night even when dimmed. |
I'm with Negatize
we both experienced both types of gauges. To answer your question in twenty words or less - Yes they fit over as long as your careful.
